Christmas Coloured Smoothie Recipe

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…


Packed into the colourful fiesta above is a handful of (iron clad) spinach, 1/4 of (healthy fats) avocado, one (potassium loaded) banana, 1/2 cup of (protein rich) almond milk, a dash of (sweetness) vanilla essence or honey. Blended, poured into a bowl, topped off with coconut yogurt and fresh strawberries.


Follow the formula below to make your own super easy smoothies all summer long.

  • Start with creamy fruit; banana or avocado work well.

  • Back it up with fruit or veg like strawberries, kiwifruit, pineapple, spinach

  • Add in desired flavour such as vanilla, lemon, tahini

  • And a dash of sweetness from dates or honey

  • Pump up the protein with seeds and nuts soaked overnight, nut butters, protein powders spirulina, or hemp powder - an excellent source of complete protein that’s high in omega 3, 6, (like your avocado) and fibre (like your kiwifruit)

  • Choose your liquid - almond, soy or coconut milk or water

  • Blend, pour into a bowl and top it off with a dollop of coconut or acidophilus yogurt, fresh berries and a healthy sense of gratitude
